The Early Years

Patricia Edwina Victoria Mountbatten, Countess Mountbatten of Burma, was born on February 14, 1924, in London, England. She was the only child of Admiral of the Fleet Louis Mountbatten, 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma, and his wife, Edwina Ashley. Patricia's parents were both prominent figures in British society, and she grew up in a privileged environment.
