Aussie Traveller Slams Nightmare Detail At Bali Airport Nothing You Can Do

WEB Aussie traveller slams nightmare detail at Bali airport

An Australian model has gone viral after voicing her one big gripe about the airport.

Bali is a hugely popular destination for Aussies, with many heading to the tropical island for their next holiday.

But one Australian woman has warned other travellers to be aware of a potential scam at Bali's airport.

Taking to TikTok, model and influencer Brooke Jowett revealed that when she recently arrived in Bali, she was charged an extra 500,000 Indonesian rupiah (around $50) for a visa on arrival.

However, Brooke said that she had already paid for her visa online before she arrived, and had proof of payment on her phone.

"I showed them my phone and said, 'Look, I've already paid for my visa online, I have the receipt here,'" she said.

"And they said, 'Oh, we'll just cancel that one and you can pay for a new one here."

However, Brooke refused to pay the extra money, and eventually the officer let her go through.

"I think they just try it on with tourists because they think we don't know any better," she said.

Brooke's video has since gone viral, with many other Australians sharing their own experiences of being scammed at Bali airport.

One woman said she was charged an extra 300,000 rupiah (around $30) for a visa, even though she had also already paid for it online.

Another woman said she was scammed out of 500,000 rupiah ($50) by a taxi driver who took her to the wrong hotel.

The Australian government has warned travellers to be aware of potential scams at Bali airport, and has advised them to only use official taxi services and to always get a receipt for any payments they make.

If you are scammed, you should report it to the airport authorities and to the Australian embassy in Jakarta.

**Conclusion**

It's important to be aware of potential scams when travelling to Bali, and to take steps to protect yourself from being ripped off.

If you are unsure about something, don't be afraid to ask a member of the airport staff for help.

And if you do get scammed, don't be afraid to report it to the authorities.
