Pacers Fight Hard, But Celtics Pull Away Late
The Boston Celtics took an early lead in the Eastern Conference Finals on Tuesday night, defeating the Indiana Pacers 108-97 in Game 1 at TD Garden.
The Celtics were led by Jayson Tatum, who scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Jaylen Brown added 23 points, while Al Horford chipped in with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
The Pacers were paced by Domantas Sabonis, who had 24 points and 12 rebounds. Tyrese Haliburton added 22 points and 10 assists.
The Celtics led by just two points at halftime, but they pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring the Pacers 30-19.
The Pacers made a run in the fourth quarter, but the Celtics held on to secure the victory.
Game 2 of the series is scheduled for Thursday night in Boston.
