Tottenham Transfer Rumors: Club President Gives Green Light
16-Goal Striker Encouraged to Dream of Move
Spurs Verbally Agree Deal for Goalkeeper Vicario
Tottenham have received the green light from club president Daniel Levy to pursue transfers in the upcoming window, with a 16-goal striker told he can dream of a move to the North London club. The club has also verbally agreed an initial £17.2m deal with Empoli to sign goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.
The striker in question is believed to be Marcus Thuram of Borussia Mönchengladbach, who has scored 16 goals in 23 Bundesliga appearances this season. Thuram has been linked with a move to Tottenham for several months, and it now appears that the club is ready to make a serious bid for the France international.
Vicario, meanwhile, is a 26-year-old Italian goalkeeper who has impressed for Empoli in Serie A this season. He has kept 10 clean sheets in 22 league appearances, and his performances have caught the attention of Tottenham scouts.
Tottenham are expected to submit a formal offer for Vicario in the coming days. The club is also believed to be interested in signing a new right-back, with Denzel Dumfries of Inter Milan and Pedro Porro of Sporting Lisbon both being linked with moves to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
