**Buffalo Police Department Announces New Contract** **Buffalo, NY** - The Buffalo Police Department (BPD) has announced a new contract for its officers, which will run from July 1, 2021, through June 2025. The contract, which will come into effect upon approval by Buffalo's Common Council, includes over 900 employees. The new contract provides for a 3% salary increase in the first year, followed by 2.5% increases in the following three years. Additionally, officers will receive a one-time payment of $2,000 in recognition of their service during the COVID-19 pandemic. "This contract is a fair and equitable agreement for our officers," said Police Commissioner Byron Lockwood. "It recognizes the hard work and dedication of our men and women in blue, and it will help us to continue to attract and retain the best and brightest officers in the nation."
